The Korth Rebels hockey club will take on a team of firefighters and police in a 9/11 charity game tonight at 8:30. A youth game will take place at 7 p.m. Both matches are sponsored by the Korth Rebel Foundation and will take place at the Accord Ice Center (5353 W. 3100 South, West Valley City). Tickets are free, but donations are appreciated.
The foundation, according to its website, “promotes fun activities and life skills to children through augmenting their experiences in youth sports. KRF helps achieves its goal by helping coaches to be better coaches, through training and experiences.”
I interviewed the KRF’s founder Don Korth last year after he was bestowed USA Hockey’s highest award given to volunteers. You won’t find a bigger fan of hockey or a bigger heart for the development of youth hockey.
