Three Utahns will be representing the United States in the Junior Men’s Softball World Championship in Parana, Argentina, next month.
Catcher Austin Tuttle, of Payson, joins outfielders Addison Beutler, of West Valley City, and Junior Centeno, of Salem, will play for Team USA as it takes on 13 other nations in the International Softball Federation-sanctioned fast-pitch event.
“We would love to bring home the gold but the best thing is being able to represent this great country,” Tuttle said in an email.
Pool play runs from Nov. 1 through Nov. 7. The top four teams from each group of seven advances to the knock-out rounds, which begin on Nov. 8, ending with the championship game on Nov. 10. You can find the complete schedule here.
The 13 other teams that will compete are Argentina, Australia, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, India, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore and Venezuela.
