SALT LAKE CITY — Olympus ultimate disc team prevailed over wind, darkness and region rival Jordan in a 15-2 victory on Wednesday. It was the first ever official ultimate game between the two schools.
The wind made it extremely difficult for both teams to get going, but Olympus jumped out to an early 4-0 with Titans long Anderson Fackler scoring the bulk of the points. That didn’t keep the Beetdiggers down for long though, as Jordan High scored the next two goals. After that, it was all Titans.
The Titans ended the half with a 8-2 lead, thanks to a long outside-in pass from handler True DeMille to Titan long Andrew Durham.
After the break, the sun was dropping quickly making it hard to see to the disk, but that didn’t stop the barrage of goals from the Titans. With every person on the roster getting playing time, Olympus scored the last seven goals.
The Titans’ match against three-time defending state champions Lone Peak has been rescheduled for March 26.
