High school rugby: Bingham wins season opener

The Bingham High rugby club eased past East High 35-17 on Saturday in the Miners’ first match of the season. Bingham dominated the match, leading 14-5 at halftime. It was the first loss of the season for East, which is in its first season as a rugby program.

“We learned some things about ourselves this past weekend, and we are looking forward to a great week of practice getting ready for our first league game this coming weekend against Kearns,” head coach Robert Kingsford said in an email.
