The high school rugby season is ramping up with new rivalries.
One interstate rivalry begins Saturday with two nationally-ranked teams No. 4 Herriman hosting No. 20 Capital (Boise) facing off. With the Wasatch Cup being cancelled, you can get your rugby fix by watching two defending state champs battling it out.
The match is at 2 p.m. at Herriman High. The cost is $5 for adults; students with ID and children under 12, free.
Meanwhile, last weekend saw two new high school-based clubs from the birthplace of Utah rugby meet up for the first time.
Highland (now a high school-based club) beat East 32-24 on Saturday, March 31. Highland had a 10-5 halftime advantage, but had to withstand two East second-half rallies to win.
