Intermountain Cricket League Week 3: Hawks are off and flying

HAWKS 138, LIONS 85: The Lions captain won the toss and elected to field first on May 12. Hawks got a good start from Vipul and Sarath on a bowler-friendly pitch. The Hawks lost their first wicket around 30. Later, Lions got couple of wickets in quick succession and put Hawks on back foot. Exceptional batting from Varun, who had a game-high 54 runs not out, and some late blows from Niladri took the total of Hawks to a  score of 138/5 at the end of 25 overs.

Lions batting top order was rattled by Vish who took the first two wickets for Vincent. The middle order of the Lions tried to stabilize the innings, but the Hawks regularly got the wickets and at the end, Lions were all out for 85.

Sunday’s other game, the Layton Bashers and the Beehive Cricket Club, was abandoned.
