Varsity Cup expands, to be broadcasted on national TV

The Varsity Cup, entering its second year of competition announced that it has partnered with both NBC Sports and United World Sports for 2014.

This year’s championship, where BYU defeated Cal, was broadcasted at deseretnews.com.

The agreement will result in Varsity Cup championship match being televised on a major network. California, BYU, and Navy have all taken an active role in putting together this arrangement.

The tournament will also increase from 8 to 12 teams. RugbyMag.com reported that 11 spots have been filled: Cal, BYU, Navy, Utah, Clemson, Texas, Central Washington, UCLA, Notre Dame, Air Force, and Dartmouth.
