Former BYU player Davies and former Ute Cullen on tonight’s Eagles roster

LANGFORD, British Columbia — Former BYU player Shaun Davies and former Utes football and rugby player John Cullen were named to the USA Rugby’s Eagles Select XV team for tonight’s 2013 IRB Americas Rugby Championship match against Canada at 8 p.m.

Cullen was recalled to the team after Liam Murphy suffered a shoulder injury. He has been named to the bench. Davies will again start at scrumhalf after the Eagles suffered a 27-9 loss on Friday.

Canada, meanwhile, won its first game Friday against Uruguay 17-10 in the four-team tournament.

According to his agent, Cullen, who was recently let go from his positions as assistant football coach and hall monitor at Copper Hills High School, is set to join Old Puget Sound Beach Rugby Club — one of handful of clubs that make up the highest level of rugby in the United States.
