Salt Lake City native Dylan Olsen, who has been playing for the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs was called up by the Chicago Blackhawks last week to fill in for regular ‘Hawks defenseman Steve Montador.
Utah’s only professional hockey team is the class of the ECHL, leading the league at 6-1. It’s the Grizzlies best start since 1996, when they started 8-0 in the IHL. (Remember the IHL?)
It’s opening day! The Grizzlies host rival Idaho Steelheads tonight at the Maverik Center at 7 p.m. Earlier this month the NHL started with 10 former Grizzlies dotting the rosters of NHL teams. For the full list, go here.
